Camel

Camel cigarettes have enjoyed nearly a century of outstanding success, and what was true of the original Camel is just as true today — it’s a “Pleasure to Burn.” Introduced in 1913, Camel became R.J. Reynolds’ first major cigarette brand and the country’s first nationally marketed cigarette. Camel cigarettes’ unique blend of flue-cured, burley and exotic Turkish tobaccos made it the nation’s No. 1 selling brand just four years after its introduction.

This position Camel has due to the qualitative tobacco that it is produced from. It is known that Camel cigarettes are produced from Turkish and American tobacco. The company producer used this kind of tobacco in order to make the smoking of the Camel easier - it distinguishes this brand from the other tobacco cigarettes. This characteristic makes the Camel brand’s flavor to be original. Its taste is smooth and unique. The Camel cigarettes are produced from the finest tobacco, the thing that can be felt while smoking this first-class premium cigarettes. The love for a quality makes the smoker to choose this tobacco brand. The slogan:”More Doctors Smoke Camels than any other Cigarette”; is a strong argument in favor of this American tobacco.
Camel cigarettes, as many other famous cigarette brands, were promoted by the advertisement. It cannot be denied the fact that Edward R. Murrow, who was a Camel cigarette smoker (used to smoke up to 4 packs per day) also was an important figure in advertising of this brand. But the most famous one was the cartoon mascot Joe Camel. Joe was the mascot of the Camel cigarettes. At his time Joe was more recognized figure than Mickey Mouse, Bugs Bunny and Barbie. This mascot used to go on the streets and shared the Camel cigarettes to adult smokers. It was a great ad company. Now these cigarettes sometimes are called Joe, and smokers used to say: “I’m going with Joe”.
The name for this smoking brand doesn’t come from Egypt, but from Turkey, because at the moment of appearance of Camel cigarettes brand it was fashionable to travel on Camels to the foreign countries.
